The game is played on a 15x15 grid board. Players take turns placing their stones on the intersections of the grid.
Black goes first. Players alternate turns placing one stone per turn. The goal is to be the first to form an unbroken line of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
The first player to get five stones in a row wins. If the board fills up without either player achieving five in a row, the game is a draw.
